Latham Honored at the National Law Journal’s Professional Excellence Awards
The National Law Journal held its 2017 Professional Excellence Awards “honoring those attorneys and judges who have made a remarkable difference in the legal profession in the D.C. area – whether in shaping the law, achieving outsized results for their clients, being an outstanding jurist or assisting those in need of legal services.” At the ceremony, Latham accepted the following awards:
- D.C. IP Litigation Department of the Year – Latham was once again named the top law firm in Washington, D.C. for intellectual property litigation by the National Law Journal in its 2017 “D.C. Litigation Departments of Year” special report. Latham’s IP Litigation Practice won this honor in 2015 as well, the last time this award program was conducted.
- D.C. Rising Stars – The National Law Journal named Environment, Land & Resources partner Stacey VanBelleghem and Intellectual Property Litigation partner Kevin Wheeler to its 2017 Washington, D.C. “Rising Stars” list, which recognizes “the region’s 40 most promising lawyers age 40 and under who have wielded great influence in their practice areas in the D.C. area and beyond.” VanBelleghem and Wheeler are two of a stellar group of young partners in Latham’s Washington, D.C. office who have a strong track record navigating federal courts and Executive Branch departments and agencies.
- Pro Bono Hot List – In its annual “Pro Bono Hot List” recognizing notable public interest achievements by law firms, the National Law Journal honored Latham for helping US military veterans apply for immigration status for which they are eligible due to their service to the country.
