Firm Receives Pro Bono Leadership Award

Texas Appleseed has recognized Latham with its Pro Bono Leadership Award for the firm’s “support of social, economic, and racial justice.” Since 2023, our Texas-based lawyers volunteered more than 1,700 hours on a variety of projects for the nonprofit, including a project focused on the impact of school and housing segregation on families in Texas and research projects across Texas Appleseed’s program areas such as criminal justice, disaster relief, and elder law.

Texas Appleseed is a public interest justice center that promotes social and economic justice for all Texans. Over the last nine years, our lawyers have taken on more than 40 matters for Texas Appleseed. This work includes combatting youth homelessness, and researching the extent to which courts have the authority to administer the fines, fees, and bail they’ve imposed on criminal defendants.
