Latham Wins Four IFLR European Awards

For the second year in succession, Latham & Watkins has been named ‘High Yield Team of the Year’ at the IFLR Europe Awards. The firm was also recognised in three ‘Deal of the Year’ categories for demonstrating ‘legal innovation across the most significant international deals in Europe’.

The honoured transactions, include:

• High Yield Deal of the Year: Latham represented Goldman Sachs International and other initial purchasers and lenders in connection with the acquisition by Advent, Bain and Clessidra of ICBPI for total consideration of €1.9 billion, of which debt financing included €1.1 billion of fixed and floating rate notes and a €55 million revolving credit facility.
• Loan Deal of the Year: Latham advised J.P. Morgan Securities and the other mandated lend arrangers as arranger and underwriter of the €6.8 billion acquisition debt financing for China National Chemical Corporation's purchase of shares in Pirelli from Camfin S.p.A, and the subsequent tender offer for the remaining shares in Pirelli.
• Private Equity Deal of the Year: Latham represented BC Partners in connection with its €1.8 billion sale of a 72% stake in Synlab services.
