Four Partners Named Among Latin America’s Top 100 Lawyers

Latinvex has again named Latin America Practice partners Roderick Branch, Christopher Cross, Antonio Del Pino, and Fernando Mantilla-Serrano to its annual Latin America’s Top 100 Lawyers list, which recognizes the leading lawyers from international firms involved in the legal business in the region. 

• Branch focuses on capital markets transactions and securities regulation. His most recent work in Latin America includes advising the initial purchasers in connection with Panama-based Copa Holdings’ US$350 million convertible note financing; the initial purchasers in connection with Chilean telecommunications company WOM Mobile’s US$510 million high yield financing; and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), as guarantor, in a US$400 million offering of social bonds issued by the Republic of Ecuador.  
• Cross is a corporate and finance transactional lawyer who focuses on US and international infrastructure and energy acquisitions, financings, and complex commercial transactions. He has in recent years led transactions across Latin America in the pipeline, renewables, conventional generation and transmission, commodity, transportation, refinancing, and chemicals sectors. 
• Del Pino, Global Chair of the Latin America Practice, focuses on cross-border transactions in Latin America including acquisitions, financings, private equity transactions, and restructurings. He brings more than two decades of experience navigating complex transactions on behalf of sophisticated clients doing business in Latin America. He combines keen market insights with bilingual language skills to handle matters across industries, with a particular focus on the infrastructure, energy, and financial services sectors. Del Pino has also represented more than half a dozen governments in Latin America in the privatization and concession of infrastructure assets. 
• Mantilla-Serrano, Global Co-Chair of the firm’s International Arbitration Practice, is acclaimed for his depth of knowledge and experience in international arbitration, representing companies, states, and state-owned entities in highly complex commercial and investor-state disputes. He is a member of SIAC’s Court of Arbitration, the International Law Association (ILA), the Governing Board of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). 

The judging criteria used by Latinvex was a combination of factors, including recent track record on major deals and business, prominence of the firm in Latin America, and rankings by third parties such as Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500, and Refinitiv.
