James E. Brandt Honored with Prestigious Judge Joseph M. Proskauer Award

The UJA–Federation of New York (UJA) honored New York-based litigation partner James E. Brandt with The Judge Joseph M. Proskauer Award at the organization’s Lawyers Division Annual Event held on February 18. Brandt received the Proskauer award, the most prestigious accolade given by the UJA to members of the legal community, for his outstanding professional achievement and his service to the community. Headquartered in New York City, the UJA is one of the largest philanthropic organizations in the US, raising and allocating funds each year to fulfill a mission to “care for people in need, inspire a passion for Jewish life and learning, and strengthen Jewish communities in New York, in Israel, and around the world.”

In addition to recognizing Brandt, the UJA honored Alexander Chester, counsel at O’Melveny & Myers, with The James H. Fogelson Emerging Leadership Award, in a ceremony that featured messages from Congressman Ritchie Torres (NY-15) and former New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.
