Latham Advises GIP in the Completion of Its Sale of Renewable Assets to Engie Brasil Energia
GIP Helios II S.A. has completed its US$643 million sale of renewable assets to Engie Brasil Energia Complementares Participações Ltda. (EBECP). The assets consisted of 550MW of solar projects in Brazil which came online between 2019 and 2023, and have power purchase agreements (PPAs) with several companies, including Anglo American, Dow, and Unipar, as well as in the regulated market.
Latham & Watkins LLP represents GIP Helios II S.A. as the seller in the transaction, with a corporate deal team led by partners Tony Del Pino and Carlos Ardila, with associates Francisco Lanusse and Melanie Von Staa Toledo. Advice was also provided on tax matters by New York partner Alan Kimball, with associate Christina McLeod.
