Latham Advises Imerys on Disposal of Assets Serving the Paper Market
Latham & Watkins has advised Imerys on the disposal of its assets serving the paper market to an affiliate of Flacks Group, a US investment firm, for a net equity value close to €150 million.
The activities of the assets are operated by approximately 900 employees in 24 plants in the Americas and Asia, as well as certain locations in Europe, generating approximately €370 million in sales in 2023. The divestiture enables Imerys to achieve another key milestone in its long-term repositioning towards growing businesses and value creation ambitions. It further allows the company to focus its growth strategy on specialty minerals solutions, in particular in markets such as energy transition, sustainable construction, and natural solutions for consumer goods.
The Latham team was led in Paris by corporate partners Thomas Forschbach and Alexander Benedetti, with associates Aymeric Derrien-Akagawa, Claudia Reix, Yasmine Houichi, Juliette Gilioli, and Cheryl Yviquel. Advice was also provided on IP matters by partner Jean-Luc Juhan, with associate Daniel Martel and on tax matters by partner Xavier Renard, with associate Clémence Morel.
