Latham Attorneys Lead in “Hollywood’s Top Dealmakers of 2024” by The Hollywood Reporter
A trio of Latham-led deals was highlighted among 15 of Hollywood’s top deals of 2024 by the entertainment trade publication, The Hollywood Reporter. Named among the most “impactful and intriguing pacts that reshaped the industry” were Skydance Media’s merger with Paramount Global and the concurrent Skydance investor group acquisition of National Amusements, in which Latham advised Skydance and the investor group; TPG’s investment in management firm Untitled and subsequent merger with Grandview, in which Latham advised TPG; and Endeavor’s take-private acquisition by Silver Lake, in which Latham advised Endeavor.
New York corporate partner and Global Chair of Latham’s Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Justin Hamill, and Century City partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s Entertainment, Sports & Media Practice Rick Offsay were honored for their representation of global alternative asset management firm TPG in deals to scale the company’s management business and expand its global presence.
Justin, Rick, and Chicago/New York partner Bradley Faris, New York partner Ian Nussbaum, Chicago partner Max Schleusener, and Century City partner Liliana Paparelli Ranger were highlighted for their work advising Skydance Media on the “Studio Merger of the Year,” deemed as one of the most “complex and important [deals] to Hollywood in 2024.
Justin, Ian, and New York partner Michael Anastasio were spotlighted for their work advising Endeavor on its take-private acquisition. Commenting on the transaction, the trio stated, “Take-privates are incredible to work on because they require deep knowledge and expertise in many areas of corporate law. In many ways, take-privates are the epitome of a team sport — a successful transaction requires execution across various practice groups, including M&A, litigation, capital markets, tax, labor, and finance. Latham is grateful to have had the chance to work with Endeavor for over 15 years on exciting transactions.”
