Latham Honored at Expansión Legal Awards

Latham & Watkins has earned recognition for advising on the Deal of the Year at the fifth annual Expansión Legal Awards. The firm was honored for its role advising Bolsas y Mercados Españoles’ (BME) Board of Directors on the all-cash voluntary friendly tender offer by SIX Group AG, the Swiss financial markets infrastructure operator.

The high-profile transaction was approved by the Spanish Economy Ministry and the National Securities Market Commission earlier this year and created one of Europe’s largest financial market infrastructure groups. The Latham team was led by Madrid corporate partner Ignacio Gómez-Sancha with partner Jose Maria Jimenez-Laiglesia, counsel Luis Lozano, and associates Rafael Martinez-Echevarria and Mapi Villanueva.

The annual Expansión Legal Awards recognize excellence among the top lawyers and firms in the Spanish market. The judging panel consists of more than 50 senior leaders from Spanish and international companies and law firms.
