Latham Honored for Outstanding Pro Bono Service
The Legal Aid Society of Metropolitan Family Services honored Latham & Watkins with the Scott C. Solberg Pro Bono Award in recognition of the firm’s commitment to providing Chicago-area families with critical pro bono legal services. Latham lawyers have a long history of working with the Legal Aid Society on a variety of matters, including human trafficking, domestic violence, elder abuse, housing and consumer issues.
Brad Kotler, Office Managing Partner in Latham’s Chicago office, and Mike Faris, a Chicago partner and member of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee, accepted the award on the firm’s behalf at the Legal Aid Society’s Equal Access to Justice Award Luncheon in Chicago.
The Scott C. Solberg Award is given annually to a Chicago law firm displaying a strong commitment to the fundamental principles of equal protection and equal justice in the community through outstanding pro bono service.
Matt Kutcher, Chair of the Litigation Department in Latham’s Chicago office, was co-chair of the award luncheon and presented the Legal Aid Society Award for Outstanding Board Service to Zachary Fardon, a former Latham partner who is now US Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.
