Latham Honored With Diversity Innovation Award

Latham & Watkins received the Diversity Innovation Award at the 2019 Legal Week Innovation Awards. The annual awards celebrate “outstanding achievement within the profession” and recognize best practices, programs, and innovation in the industry. 

Legal Week honored Latham with the Diversity Innovation award for its First Generation Professionals (FGP) Lawyers Group. The group advocates for and assists first-generation lawyers in their advancement at the firm through a range of recruiting efforts, mentoring, and training programs, networking opportunities, and social events. Latham has developed a number of global affinity groups, including the FGP Lawyers Group, to help enhance the diversity efforts of the firm and the legal profession at large. 

Legal Week praised Latham as a “standout” firm in a “strong field of competitors” for supporting diversity and inclusion.

Latham was also shortlisted in the AI Innovation category for developing RiskHorizon, a purpose made tool to support the environmental due diligence process. RiskHorizon harnesses the power of big data to help companies looking to report on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities.
