Latham’s Mobile Apps Win Innovator Award
A series of informative mobile applications created by Latham & Watkins received recognition at the 2015 Innovator Awards presented by The Recorder (ALM). The nine installments in the firm’s Book of Jargon® series and two mobile apps covering global merger regimes and bribery and corruption law were honored in the “Ideas” category for “meeting the demand for instant knowledge” in creative and tech-savvy ways. The Latham apps demystify legal, financial and business terms and help users stay current through continual updates of definitions, laws and regulations. Each is available online or through downloads for Apple and Android users.
Ken Heaps, the firm’s Chief Information Officer, told The Recorder in a profile article: "Latham lawyers are extremely progressive with how technology is being used. It's part of our culture to look at how we can deliver services as efficiently as we can, and show and prove we truly are thought leaders."
According to The Recorder, the awards are designed to recognize innovations in the legal community that are “speeding the delivery, and reducing the cost, of legal services” by “shining a well-deserved spotlight on these ideas, institutions and individuals.”
