Latham & Watkins named European Private Equity Legal Adviser of the Year

Latham & Watkins has been crowned ‘European Private Equity Legal Adviser of the year’ at the Mergermarket European M&A Awards 2016.

The firm won praise for its role on a number of high-profile, cross-border private equity transactions in 2016, including representing The Carlyle Group in its buyout of Hunkemoller, and advising Ardian in connection with its sale of a 67% stake in Novacap, a manufacturer and distributor of chemical raw materials, to Eurazeo.

Other high-profile deals on which the firm advised in 2016, include:

• CVC Capital Partners’ €1 billion acquisition of Sisal Group, an Italy-based gaming and payments operator
• The Carlyle Group’s €350 million minority investment with ITT in Ion Investment Group, an Ireland-based developer of electric flow trading, commodity, treasury and risk management solutions
