Latham Named Finance Team of the Year at the 2021 Legal Business Awards

Latham & Watkins has been named Finance Team of the Year at the 2021 Legal Business Awards. The annual awards celebrate outstanding achievements by law firms, legal teams, and individuals in the legal profession.

Legal Business commended Latham for its role advising the Central Bank of Egypt on the formulation of Egypt’s new banking law (No 194 of 2020), a key pillar of the Republic’s ongoing programme of economic reform. The law will significantly enhance Egypt’s banking system in line with international standards and best practices, and offers a blueprint for the reform of banking systems in other emerging economies.

Latham was also shortlisted for International Arbitration Team of the Year for securing a landmark victory for Ukraine in a US$6 billion arbitration and CSR Programme of the Year for developing a variety of initiatives to promote and augment social justice.
