Latham Named International Law Firm of the Year

Latham & Watkins has been named International Law Firm of the Year and Private Equity Team of the Year at Legal Week’s 2018 British Legal Awards. The annual awards celebrate outstanding achievements by law firms, legal teams, and individuals in the UK legal sector. 

The International Law Firm of the Year award recognizes global law firms with a leading presence in the UK legal market. Legal Week commended Latham for the firm’s pro bono work, legal expertise, innovative problem solving, and strong client relationships. 

Latham was named Private Equity Team of the Year for advising on the sale of Akzonobel’s Specialty Chemicals business to The Carlyle Group and GIC. Latham represented The Carlyle Group in the transaction, with a corporate team led by London partner Michael Bond and Washington, D.C. partner David Dantzic. 

The firm also earned a ranking of Highly Commended in the CSR/Diversity Initiative of the Year category for partnering with Amnesty International and Save the Children UK on a high-profile pro bono project that is shaping refugee law and policy in the UK.
