Latham Named Law Firm of the Year in California
Latham & Watkins has been named Law Firm of the Year in California, the top prize in the annual California Legal Awards presented by The Recorder and Law.com, which celebrate the achievements of lawyers and companies leading technology, innovation, and the profession as a whole. In addition, three Latham partners were selected as winners in their respective categories and the firm was recognized as a finalist in six categories.
A published profile for Law Firm of the Year noted the ability of Latham lawyers to navigate the complexities of various legal landscapes, diverse areas of expertise, and deep industry knowledge to advise clients on their most challenging matters, from the firm’s offices throughout California to financial and innovation centers around the world.
The trio of partners named winners are:
- Melanie Blunschi, Co-Chair of the Bay Area Litigation & Trial Department, named in the Women Leaders in Tech Law category for the second year in a row.
- Michele Johnson, Global Chair of the Litigation & Trial Department, who earned the Distinguished Leader Award.
- Marvin Putnam, Global Co-Chair of the Entertainment, Sport & Media Industry Group, honored as Entertainment Lawyer of the Year.
Latham was also named a finalist and profiled in the following categories:
- Tad Freese for Office Managing Partner of the Year.
- Michael Rubin for Attorney of the Year.
- Hilary Strong for Real Estate Lawyer of the Year.
- Tech Industry Litigation Department of the Year for a continuing run of stunning courtroom victories for the world’s most innovative tech companies.
- Tech Industry Advisory Team of the Year recognizing outstanding transactional work.
- The Vanguard Award honoring forward-looking efforts such as the work of Latham’s AI Task Force to support the entire AI ecosystem across the firm’s global platform.
