Latham & Watkins’ earned recognition at Proximo’s Deals of the Year Awards 2023 for our work on the Latin American Solar Deal of the Year: Solek PMGD Portfolio, showcasing our market-leading team. The annual awards program recognizes outstanding deals within the project, infrastructure and energy finance industry.
The firm advised on:
- Latin American Solar Deal of the Year 2023 — Latham represented BlackRock in the mezzanine private placement of notes for a portfolio of utility-scale and distributed generation (PMGD) solar projects developed by renewable energy company Solek. The financing contemplates the issuance of delayed-draw notes whose proceeds will be used mainly to fund equity requirements under a separate multi-source project financing comprising several loan facilities and a debt private placement to support Solek’s portfolio of solar power plants in Chile. Latham separately represented Banco de Crédito e Inversiones (BCI) as VAT lender, collateral agent, and depositary bank in the multi-source project financing.
