Benchmark Litigation
Named a Top 20 Trial Law Firm in the US and ranked Tier 1 in antitrust, appellate, general commercial, IP, securities, and white collar categories.

Latham’s Litigation & Trial Department continues to build upon its ever-growing success, once again receiving top rankings in the 2025 America edition of Benchmark Litigation, “a definitive guide on the world’s leading litigation firms and legal professionals.” The department's impressive showing this year includes distinguished rankings across multiple practice areas and high rankings for individual lawyers.

Showcasing the Litigation & Trial team’s unmatched capabilities across numerous practice groups and industries, Latham has once again been named a Top 20 Trial Law Firm in the US and achieved Tier 1 rankings in six Benchmark categories: Antitrust, Appellate, General Commercial, Intellectual Property, Securities, and White Collar. Benchmark stated, “Latham has also gained a well-earned reputation as an undeniable litigation powerhouse whose footprint has not only reached national levels but boasts litigation heavyweights in nearly every one of its US offices across a diverse spectrum of practice areas.”

Among the 2025 Benchmark individual rankings, Litigation & Trial Department Global Chair Michele Johnson was once again named among the Top 10 Women Litigators in the US.

Additionally, four Latham partners are listed in Benchmark’s Top 100 Trial Lawyers in the US, maintaining their recognitions from the 2024 guide — including Michele Johnson; Executive Committee member and former Complex Commercial Litigation Practice Global Chair Sean Berkowitz; Securities Litigation & Professional Liability Practice Global Chair Andrew Clubok; and former Litigation & Trial Department Global Chair Jamie Wine. A further 50 Latham litigators across the US were honored as Benchmark Litigation Stars, and nine were recognized as Future Stars.

Among Benchmark’s Top 250 Women in Litigation, seven Latham partners earned inclusion in the 2025 edition — Michele Johnson; Jamie Wine; Chicago Office Managing Partner Mary Rose Alexander; Antitrust & Competition Global Vice Chair Belinda Lee; Tara Elliott; Elizabeth Prewitt; and Maggy Sullivan.

Regionally, Latham earned top-tier recognition for litigation in California, the District of Columbia, Illinois, and New York.

Latham earned multiple honors at the Benchmark Litigation Awards earlier this year, including Antitrust Firm of the Year, Firm of the Year: California, and an Impact Case Award. Michele Johnson was named as a finalist for Securities Litigator of the Year, and Sean Berkowitz was a finalist for White Collar Crime/Investigations Litigator of the Year. Latham was also a finalist for Firm of the Year and in the Intellectual Property and Securities categories.
