Latham & Watkins Advises Black Forest Labs in US$31 Million Seed Funding
Black Forest Labs, a generative AI startup built to develop and advance state-of-the-art generative deep learning models for media such as images and videos, has announced the successful closing of its Series Seed funding round of US$31 million. The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz and included participation from angel investors Brendan Iribe, Michael Ovitz, Garry Tan, Timo Aila, and Vladlen Koltun, among others.
Latham & Watkins LLP represented Black Forest Labs in the funding round with an Emerging Companies & Growth team led by Bay Area partner Ben Potter and Orange County partner Nima Movahedi, with associate Justin Tzeng. Advice was also provided on intellectual property matters by Los Angeles partner Ghaith Mahmood and San Diego partner Jennifer Barry, with associate Nicole Nour.
