Latham Wins Six Accolades at the IFLR Europe Awards 2020
Latham & Watkins has been honoured in six categories at the IFLR Europe Awards 2020. Latham was named Italian Firm of the Year for securing roles on a number of landmark transactions, including representing the Carlyle Group on its high-profile acquisition of Forgital and Bain Capital on its innovative distressed investment in Giuseppe Bottiglieri.
The firm was also recognized in several other Team and Deal of the Year categories, including:- High Yield Team of the Year – For the sixth year in succession, the firm’s European high yield practice was recognized for roles on a host of major deals, including advising on the acquisition financing packages for Merlin Entertainments and Saszka Group, and the transformational Pinewood Studios offering.
- Loans Team of the Year – Latham won praise for advising the bank consortium on the financing for KIRKBY, Blackstone and CPPIB’s acquisition of Merlin Entertainments – also named Loan Deal of the Year at this year’s awards – and acted for the banks on a complex financing for BidFair MergeRight’s acquisition of Sotheby’s.
- Structured Finance and Securitisation Deal of the Year – The firm advised Stenn Assets UK on the establishment and refinancing of its trade receivables securitisation platform.
- London capital markets associate Patrick Kwak was named among the International Rising Stars of the Year – Kwak was honoured for his track record and great feedback, including roles on the financing for EQT and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority’s acquisition of Nestle’s Skin Health and advising on the Nexi’s 2018 high yield bond offering.
