Legalcommunity Recognizes Latham’s Milan Office as Team of the Year

The Italian legal magazine Legalcommunity has recognized Latham & Watkins’ Milan office as Team of the Year and partner Giorgia Lugli as Private Equity Lawyer of the Year at the Legalcommunity 2021 Forty under 40 Awards.

Home to many of Italy’s leading corporate, finance, and disputes lawyers, the Milan office has continued to deliver exceptional results on behalf of Italian and international clients. Legalcommunity praised the team for “combining outstanding technical expertise with an exceptional level of commitment”, both valuable traits for the firm.

Ms. Lugli has also earned the publication’s Private Equity Lawyer of the Year distinction for the second consecutive year. Legalcommunity highlighted Ms. Lugli’s ability to serve clients on complex private equity transactions. According to Legalcommunity, Ms. Lugli “combines outstanding technical expertise with an exceptional level of commitment.” The publication added, “She is always able to find effective solutions.” Ms. Lugli, who was promoted to the partnership in January 2021, has recently advised on a number of the most significant transactions in the Italian market. She leads Latham & Watkins’ Diversity Committee in Milan, and actively contributes to a number of programs and initiatives that aim to advance diversity at the firm.

The firm also received nominations in several other categories, including Banking & Finance Team of the Year, Insolvency & Restructuring Team of the Year, and Private Equity Team of the Year. In addition, Milan partner Alessia De Coppi was nominated as Banking & Finance Lawyer of the Year, and Milan associate Paolo Bernasconi was nominated as Capital Markets Lawyer of the Year.
