Litigation & Trial Department Continues Hot Streak With Numerous Top Rankings
Latham’s Litigation & Trial Department continues to exemplify excellence as illustrated in the 2024 America edition of Benchmark Litigation, “a definitive guide on the world’s leading litigation firms and legal professionals.” The department’s remarkable performance includes distinguished rankings across multiple practice areas and for individual lawyers.
Reflective of the Litigation & Trial team’s unmatched, best-in-class capabilities across multiple legal disciplines and industries, Latham was again named a Top 20 Trial Law Firm in the US and ranked Tier 1 in six Benchmark categories: Antitrust, Appellate, General Commercial, Intellectual Property, Securities, and White Collar. Benchmark noted that Latham has “a well-earned reputation as an undeniable litigation powerhouse whose footprint has not only reached national levels but boasts litigation heavyweights in nearly every one of its US offices across a diverse spectrum of practice areas.”
In the individual rankings, Litigation & Trial Department Global Chair Michele Johnson was honored among the Top 10 Women Litigators in the US. Additionally, five Latham partners are ranked in Benchmark’s Top 100 Trial Lawyers in the US, repeating their recognitions in the 2023 guide — including Johnson; Complex Commercial Litigation Practice Global Chair Sean Berkowitz; Securities Litigation & Professional Liability Practice Global Chair Andrew Clubok; and former Litigation & Trial Department Global Chairs Peter Wald and Jamie Wine. Nearly 60 Latham litigators across the US were honored as Benchmark Litigation Stars.
Among Benchmark’s Top 250 Women in Litigation, eight Latham partners earned inclusion — Johnson; Wine; Chicago Office Managing Partner Mary Rose Alexander; Complex Commercial Litigation Global Vice Chair Elizabeth Deeley; Tara Elliott; Antitrust & Competition Global Vice Chair Belinda Lee; Elizabeth Prewitt; and Maggy Sullivan.
Regionally, Latham earned top tier recognition for litigation in California, the District of Columbia, Illinois, and New York.
Latham earned multiple recognitions at the Benchmark Litigation Awards earlier this year. Johnson was named winner in the Securities Litigator category, Berkowitz was named a finalist in the White Collar Crime/Investigations Litigator category, and retired partner Daniel Wall was named a finalist in the Antitrust Litigator category. Latham was named a finalist in the Antitrust, Intellectual Property, Securities, and White Collar Crime/Investigations categories in the practice area awards.
