Milan Associate Named Private Equity Lawyer of the Year

Milan associate Giorgia Lugli has been named Private Equity Lawyer of the Year at Legalcommunity’s Forty Under 40 Awards.

Legalcommunity highlighted Ms. Lugli’s ability to serve clients on complex private equity transactions. According to Legalcommunity, Ms. Lugli “combines outstanding technical expertise with an exceptional level of commitment.” The publication added, “She is always able to find effective solutions.”

Ms. Lugli joined Latham & Watkins’ Milan office in 2014 as a member of the Corporate Department. She has developed a robust corporate, private equity, and restructuring practice and has advised on some of the Italian market’s most significant recent transactions, including the acquisition of 48% of Gamenet by Gamma Bidco, the distressed investment in Giuseppe Bottiglieri Shipping Company S.p.A. by Bain Capital, and the joint venture between Sisal and Intesa Sanpaolo. She also leads Latham & Watkins’ Women Lawyers Group in Milan and actively contributes to a number of programs and initiatives that support and advance diversity at the firm.

The firm also received nominations in several other categories, including Banking & Finance Team of the Year and Private Equity Team of the Year. In addition, Milan associate Alessia De Coppi was nominated as Banking & Finance Lawyer of the Year.
