Three Latham Partners Named 2023 Women Worth Watching in STEM
Partners Arlene Chow, Rachel Cohen, and Betty Pang have been named among Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 2023 Women Worth Watching in STEM, which recognizes high-achieving women in STEM “who are blazing trails for women and girls everywhere who want to build a successful and satisfying career in science, technology, engineering, or math.”
Arlene Chow is a first chair Chambers-ranked litigator and trial lawyer and serves as Global Vice Chair of the firm’s Healthcare & Life Sciences Industry Group. Chow advises pharmaceutical and biotech companies on their most sophisticated intellectual property and patent litigation matters. She uses her knowledge and extensive background in biochemistry to simplify highly technical information for the judge or jury. Chow previously served as Co-Chair of the firm’s Women Enriching Business (WEB) Committee in the New York office.
As a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice, Rachel Cohen has represented clients in patent disputes across a wide range of technologies including multimedia, mobile and web applications, and social networking, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, semiconductor manufacturing, power conversion, automotive parts, and crossbows. In addition to her practice, Cohen dedicates her time to pro bono matters and is an active member of the Federal Circuit Bar Association, the Giles S. Rich American Inn of Court, the advisory counsel for the Program on Information Justice & Intellectual Property (PIJIP) at the American University Washington College of Law, and ChIPs® Advancing Women in Tech, Law, and Policy.
Betty Pang advises clients in the healthcare and life sciences industry on regulatory matters and corporate transactions. With a comprehensive view of the industry, she helps her clients navigate their most complex and sensitive issues pertaining to fraud and abuse, self-referral and government program reimbursement compliance, facility and provider licensing, and corporate practice and fee-splitting issues. She also serves as one of Latham’s Bay Area Local Office Leaders for the firm’s Asian and Middle Eastern Lawyers Group and a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Board.
