Two Latham Partners Named Under 40 Honorees by Bloomberg Law
Litigation & Trial partner Stephen Barry and Finance partner Nicole Fanjul have been profiled in Bloomberg Law’s 2023 They’ve Got Next: The 40 Under 40 report, which recognizes the accomplishments of stellar young lawyers nationwide “who took the reins on key client matters early in their careers, earning the confidence of more senior attorneys at their organizations, and raising the bar in their work on behalf of their clients and communities.”
Barry, a Washington, D.C.-based partner in the Securities Litigation & Professional Liability Practice, represents companies, accounting firms, individuals, and organizations in a wide range of regulatory and litigation matters. His published profile highlighted several examples of recent litigation successes such as back-to-back dismissals for DXC Technology in Virginia and California federal securities class actions and a win for online education provider Stride, Inc. in a securities-fraud case stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Fanjul, a member of the Banking Practice who serves as Co-Deputy Office Managing Partner for the New York office, represents lenders and corporate borrowers in a variety of complex financings, with a particular focus on syndicated leveraged finance and direct lending transactions. Her published profile noted her lead role in recent transactions such as representing the lenders in the recurring revenue financing to support Zendesk’s $10.2 billion acquisition by an investor group, the largest private debt backed leveraged buyout in history by debt size, and representation of a global bank in a US$4.91 billion term loan and revolving credit facility, concurrent with a US$5.3 billion bond offering, for pharmaceutical company Organon.
In the coverage, both partners also reflected on their career development, community service, and how they define success.
