Variety Spotlights Latham’s Global Entertainment, Sports & Media Team in Dealmakers Impact Report 2022

Seven partners in Latham’s Entertainment, Sports & Media (ESM) Practice have been honored by Variety in its annual Dealmakers Impact Report that ranks “tough negotiators” in the entertainment industry. Partners Nancy Bruington, Ken Deutsch, Justin Hamill, Kendall Johnson, Rick Offsay, Libby Savill, and Jonathan West were all profiled in the Dealmakers Impact Report 2022 for their lead strategic roles advising clients on a full spectrum of film, television, music, and content-related business transactions.

Ken Deutsch, Global Co-Chair of Latham’s ESM Practice, was honored for his work with long-standing client A24, in addition to his representation of Stampede Ventures in its animated family content alliance with UTA, and the lead equity investor in Rob Reiner’s Castle Rock Entertainment.

Justin Hamill, Global Co-Chair of Latham’s Mergers & Acquisitions Practice, was recognized for advising US$50 billion worth of deals over the past two years, including advising Endeavor, Silver Lake and KKR in high-profile transactions.

London partner Libby Savill, Global Co-Chair of Latham’s ESM Industry Group, was noted for her work advising SRMG in the launch of a regional free-to-air TV channel, Centricus in its acquisition of a majority stake in SK Global Entertainment, and music industry deals with KKR and Sesac.

Century City partners Nancy Bruington, Kendall Johnson, Rick Offsay, and Jonathan West were celebrated for their work on a range of matters. A “finance specialist,” Bruington’s work advising a24 and eOne was highlighted. Johnson and Offsay’s work representing MGM in its acquisition by Amazon was noted, in addition to their work advising Silver Lake in its acquisition of Shadowbox Studios. Among his accolades, West was noted for his work representing “celebrities and companies in personal services agreements” including Tom Brady.
