Hugo Cliff is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Corporate Department.

Hugo handles a broad range of corporate matters, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and general corporate matters.

Prior to joining Latham, Hugo was as an associate in the corporate department of a multinational law firm based in London.

Hugo’s experience includes advising:

  • Rivulis, a portfolio company of Temasek, on the acquisition of the international irrigation business of Jain Irrigation Systems, an India-based micro irrigation systems company with notable operations in Brazil
  • Equistone Partners and Acuity Knowledge Partners (Acuity), on the sale of Acuity, a leading provider of high-value research, analytics, and business intelligence to the financial services sector, with operations in South America, North America, Asia, and Europe, to funds advised by Permira
  • Silver Lake in its minority investment in New Zealand Rugby, a national rugby union team
  • Bridgepoint Capital on its investment in MiQ, a leading global programmatic media partner, alongside its founders and management shareholders
  • Ares on its acquisition of SLR Global, a UK-based ESG consultancy and advisory business, from Charterhouse and management shareholders
  • Mphasis on its acquisition of Datalytyx, a UK data management and analytics company*
  • Shareholders of Hindawi Limited on the $300m sale of Hindawi Limited, a leading publisher of Open Access journals, to John Wiley & Sons, Inc.*
  • Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), part of ADQ and owner of the London ExCel centre, on the acquisition of the DoubleTree By Hilton London ExCe.*
