Abid Ahmed is a corporate associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins.

Abid primarily handles capital markets, general securities, and corporate matters. He advises public and private companies and financial institutions on domestic and cross-border transactions. 

His experience includes: 

  • Initial public offerings (IPOs) and subsequent equity financings 
  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Debt and equity-linked offerings
  • Acquisition and venture financings
  • SEC, corporate governance, and other general corporate matters

Abid currently serves as the Global Leader of the firm’s First Generation Professionals Group. He also maintains an active pro bono practice, assisting individuals seeking asylum protections in the United States.

Abid’s select experience includes advising: 

  • MakeMyTrip in its US$3.1 billion convertible notes and common stock offerings
  • Hinge Health in its US$437 million IPO on the New York Stock Exchange
  • Funko Inc., on a US$263 million acquisition of their common stock by a consortium led by TCG
  • The initial purchasers with the US$750 million senior notes offering of Iron Mountain
  • The underwriters with over US$800 million common stock offerings of Dutch Bros 
  • The initial purchasers with the US$450 million convertible notes offering of Progress Software
