Alexander Gomonov is a partner in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member the firm’s Corporate Department.

Mr. Gomonov advises Russian and international clients on a variety of complex cross-border acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures, with a particular focus on the oil and gas and mining sectors. Mr. Gomonov also has significant experience advising companies and executives on a range of regulatory, compliance, and general corporate law matters.

Mr. Gomonov’s representative experience includes advising:

  • PJSC "TMK" on the acquisition of 86.54% of shares in PJSC "ChelPipe" from Andrey Komarov
  • Gazprom Neft on a number of M&A and joint venture transactions, including a joint venture with Shell, to explore and develop Leskinsky and Pukhutsyayakhsky license blocks on the Gydan Peninsula
  • Rostec Corporation in connection with a joint venture with Renault in relation to Avtovaz
  • DXC Technology on the acquisition of Luxoft Holding, a Switzerland-based provider of software development services and IT solutions
  • A major Central European online games developer in connection with group restructuring and a potential M&A transaction
  • A major multinational oil and gas company in connection with its LNG joint venture in Russia*
  • Alltech Group on its joint venture with Rosneft in connection with Pechora LNG project*
  • Weatherford International Ltd. on the acquisition of TNK-BP's Oilfield Services division*
  • Centerra Gold (KB) on the creation of several junior gold exploration and mining joint ventures*
  • Eldorado Gold on the creation of a gold exploration and mining joint venture*
  • Rostec Corporation on the sale of 49% in its Mongolian copper mining assets Erdenet Mining Corporation LLC and Mongolrostsvetmet LLC to Mongolian Copper Corporation LLC*
