Alistair Renton is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins.

Mr. Renton advises clients on all aspects of the structuring, establishment and operation of private investment funds, including related carried interest and co-investment arrangements.

Mr. Renton has also advised on asset management M&A transactions (control and minority GP stakes), as well as GP-led secondary transactions.

He also has experience advising investors in respect of their investments into private investment funds.

Mr. Renton's experience includes advising:

  • A pan-European private equity sponsor on the establishment of a €2.5 billion fund
  • A US middle market private equity sponsor on the establishment of a US$2.75 billion fund
  • A UK asset manager in relation to the separation of its private debt business
  • A UK asset manager on the establishment of a €6 billion direct lending fund
  • A UK middle market private equity sponsor on the establishment of a £220 million fund
