Chris McAdam is an associate in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins and in the real estate practice group.
Chris advises REITs, private equity funds, and other real estate investors on matters relating to the acquisition, disposition, and financing of commercial real estate, including retail, office, hotel, multi-family, and mixed-use properties. Chris also regularly advises clients on the negotiation of hotel management and franchise agreements and related issues and is a go-to resource for clients in the hospitality industry for his depth of experience in management and operational issues.
Prior to joining Latham, Chris was in-house counsel for international hotel companies, as well as an associate at another international law firm.
Chris' practice includes:
- Single asset and portfolio acquisitions and dispositions
- Joint ventures and other preferred equity structured vehicles
- Financings, including mortgage financings, mezzanine financings, seller financing
- Management agreements, franchise agreements, and development agreements
Chris also frequently advises clients on a pro-bono basis including the acquisition and financing of community resource centers and health clinics in the Chicago area.
Chris serves on the Board of Directors for the Legal Council for Health Justice in Chicago which provides pro-bono legal services to Chicago’s at-risk communities.
