Costa Thrasyvoulou is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Real Estate Practice.

Mr. Thrasyvoulou represents owners and operators, private equity firms, asset managers, real estate companies, lenders, and borrowers on all aspects of commercial real estate, including real estate focused private equity and M&A transactions, joint ventures, co-investments, sale-leaseback transactions, high value landlord-tenant work, hotel and resort management, sales, acquisitions, and financing.

He advises clients on a variety of transactions within logistics, hospitality, leisure, life sciences, electric-charging, and retail sectors.

Mr. Thrasyvoulou maintains an active pro bono practice, representing welfare benefit claimants in their appeals against removal of Personal Independent Payment benefit; local charities in respect of small-scale leasing; legal advice centers; and human trafficking related cases.

Mr. Thrasyvoulou has previously spent time on secondment at the Mary Ward Legal Centre advising welfare benefit claimants in their appeals against removal of Personal Independent Payment benefit and six months’ working in the Sao Paulo office of a Magic Circle law firm as a trainee.

Mr. Thrasyvoulou's experience includes advising:

  • Asda Group:
    • Through its subsidiary Bellis Finco, on the acquisition of the United Kingdom and Ireland operations of EG Group, an operator of petrol-station convenience stores, for £2.3 billion
    • In connection with a £400m ground rent financing, secured over a portfolio of 55 of its supermarkets
    • In connection with a £646m sale and leaseback financing
  • Silver Lake Partners in its US$5bn investment in the North America business of Vantage Data Centers
  • Dynasty Equity Partners in its acquisition of a minority stake in Liverpool Football Club
  • Manchester United plc in its sale of a stake in Manchester United Football club to INEOS Chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe
  • Venator, a portfolio company for innovative pigment and additive products, on the sale of its Iron Oxide Business to Cathay Industries for £111 million
  • Lithia Motors on the acquisition of Jardine Motors Group (JM Group), a UK-based automotive retailer
