Daniel Marcus is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Structured Finance Practice.

Daniel has experience of financing across a variety of asset classes, including trade receivables, marketplace originated loans, residential and commercial mortgages, credit cards, and other loans. Daniel also advises a number of leading banks and direct lending funds on their fund financing and leverage, including asset backed and capital call facilities.

Daniel's experience includes advising: 

  • Funding Circle on becoming the first accredited SME loans platform under the UK Government’s Coronavirus Business Interruption Loans Scheme (CBILS) in a significant milestone for the scheme and fintech lenders more widely
  • Stenn Assets UK on the establishment and refinancing of its trade receivables securitization platform, awarded Structured Finance and Securitization Deal of the Year at the IFLR Europe Awards 2020
  • A number of international banks on CDO financings of Middle Market loans for leading direct lending funds
  • A leading direct lending fund on its leverage arrangements, including asset backed and capital call facilities
  • Deutsche Bank as arranger on the warehousing and structuring of the first publicly rated securitizations of SME (Funding Circle) loans originated through P2P lending platforms in Europe; this deal was shortlisted as one of the most innovative finance transactions by the Financial Times in 2016*
