David Vena retired from the partnership in December 2004. David was a member of Latham & Watkins since 1964. David's practice centered around real estate development and urban planning. He has handled the development of both Library Square, a commercial center in downtown Los Angeles, and Playa Vista, a 1,087 acre mixed-use master planned community near Marina del Rey in Los Angeles. He also represented the University of California in new campus planning and campus long range development planning.
At the time of his retirement, David belonged to the California State Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Foundation and the Real Estate Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
Active in the arts, he has served as president of the Curator's Council of the Museum of Contemporary Art, as a member of the Board of Governors of Otis Art Institute and a member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Photography. David is also a past-President of the Board of Advisors to the UCLA Medical Center.
