Doug Bacon retired from the partnership in December 2015. Doug has practiced in the insolvency arena for more than 30 years, representing secured lenders, asset purchasers, debtors, and creditors’ committees in bankruptcies and insolvency situations across a variety of industries, including aviation, retail, automotive, real estate, criminal forfeiture, hospitality, manufacturing, metals, senior living, banking, transportation, gaming, and publishing.

Doug has participated as a first chair litigator in contested matters before more than 50 bankruptcy judges in 40 judicial districts around the country.

Doug is listed as a leading Chicago bankruptcy lawyer in Chambers USA. In addition, he has been designated as an “Outstanding Bankruptcy Lawyer” by Turnarounds and Workouts. He has also been recognized as an Illinois Super Lawyer and is a member of the Turnaround Management Association.

Doug has been a featured speaker at national bankruptcy conferences, including programs sponsored by Commercial Finance Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, Renaissance American Management, Inc. and the Practicing Law Institute.
