Gregory P. Lindstrom retired from the partnership in September 2008. He had practiced with the firm since 1978. Gregory specialized in complex litigation matters, principally involving antitrust and unfair business practices. He has significant courtroom experience – having tried more than 30 lawsuits – and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Gregory's experience includes:
- Representing Oracle Corporation at trial in defeating a lawsuit brought by the US Department of Justice and ten state Attorneys General to enjoin Oracle's takeover of PeopleSoft;
- Obtaining a directed verdict for Safeway's Chicago unit, Dominick's Finer Foods, following a month-long trial of a milk price fixing conspiracy claim in one of the largest consumer class actions in Illinois history;
- Winning a trial victory for the selling shareholders in a highly publicized antitrust challenge to Hearst Corporation's acquisition of The San Francisco Chronicle;
- Representing PG&E Corporation against the State of California and City and County of San Francisco in a ground-breaking unfair business practices suit arising out of the 2000-2001 California energy crisis.
- Defending Apple Computer in a series of cases brought by resellers claiming Apple's actions in selling direct to consumers through its own retail channel and online store constitutes unfair competition.
Gregory has extensive management experience, having served for seven years as Managing Partner of the San Francisco office and two terms on Latham's Executive Committee.
