Isabel Yu is an associate in the Singapore office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Finance Department.
Isabel’ s practice focuses on complex, cross-border project development and finance matters. She also has experience in a range of corporate and finance transactions, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, cross-border bilateral, syndicated, and acquisition financings.
Isabel maintains an active pro bono practice, representing individuals seeking asylum and nonprofit organizations in conducting regional research relating to gender-based violence and other topics in Asia, as well as in drafting jurisdictional legal handbooks.
Isabel received her JD from Georgetown University Law Center. Concurrently with her studies, she also served as President of the Georgetown Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, where she represented and advocated for the interests of all AAPI students studying at Georgetown University Law Center. Isabel also served on the executive board of the Georgetown Journal of International Law.
Prior to joining Latham, Isabel spent time as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Grantee teaching English to middle and high school students in South Korea.
Isabel serves on the firm’s First Generation Professionals affinity group and on the sub-committee of the firm’s Women Lawyers Group.
