Jeffrey T. Pero

Retired Partner

Jeffrey T. Pero retired from the partnership in October 2009.  He served as the Managing Partner of the London office of the firm from 1990 to 1994 and prior to his retirement, conducted his practice from the firm's San Francisco office. Jeffrey had extensive experience in public and private debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance matters, and routinely advised clients on compliance with US securities laws. He served as primary outside counsel to several publicly-traded companies and organizations with respect to securities registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, including AMB Property Corporation (NYSE), a real estate investment trust, BRE Properties, Inc. (NYSE), a real estate investment trust, The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, Redwood Trust, Inc. (NYSE), a mortgage real estate investment trust and Senetek plc (Nasdaq), a California-based English biopharmaceutical company. He also served as outside counsel to Oasis Residential, Inc. (NYSE), a real estate investment trust, until the company was acquired by Camden Property Trust (NYSE) and Sunrise Medical, Inc. (NYSE) until the company was acquired.

Jeffrey lectured extensively in the United States and in England on the subjects of public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance matters, including the provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and related regulations.

From 2002 through 2005 he served as Chair of the firm's Training and Career Enhancement Committee, which is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm's global training programs. He was also a member of the firm's Associates Committee, which is responsible for associate compensation and promotion decisions.
