John Sherrell retired from the partnership in June 2011, with more than 30 years of experience in the practice of real estate law. He was one of the leading practitioners on California real estate finance law and was lender's counsel on hundreds of lending transactions, including development, construction and permanent loans, letter of credit enhanced bond financings, participating mortgage loans and real estate loan workouts. He had substantial experience representing property owners and developers on acquisition, development, financing, leasing, sale and tax-deferred exchange transactions. His experience has extended to almost every type of property, including office, industrial, shopping center, hotel, residential subdivision, manufactured housing, healthcare, oil refinery, wind energy and power plant facilities. John has given numerous lectures and presentations on real estate-related topics. He was a partner of the firm since 1985. From 1997 to 2001, John served on the firm's Executive Committee.
