Joshua Atkinson is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Tax Department.

Mr. Atkinson advises clients on the UK and international tax aspects of a broad range of corporate, investment funds, and finance matters. Mr. Atkinson also regularly advises on corporate and investment funds clients on remuneration and incentivisation matters. Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Atkinson was an associate in the tax department of another leading global law firm.

Mr. Atkinson’s experience include advising:

  • Viasat on its acquisition of Inmarsat, a UK-based operator of mobile telecommunications satellite networks
  • GTCR on its acquisition of Fortius Limited d/b/a Once For All, a France-based provider of supply chain management solutions for the construction industry
  • United Talent Agency, LLC on its acquisition of The Curtis Brown Group*
  • Brightstarr Group Limited (trading as Unily) in relation to a significant investment by CVC Growth Funds*
  • Arrow Global Group PLC in connection with the establishment of its fund management business and the successful launch of its new pan-European non-performing loans fund, Arrow Credit Opportunities SCSp, reaching aggregate commitments of €1.5 billion*
  • Crosstree Real Estate Partners in connection with the establishment and capitalisation of Crosstree Real Estate Special Situations Fund III*
  • The private banking arm of a multinational banking conglomerate in connection with several proposed multi-hundred million dollar investments into various leading private equity funds (both primaries and secondaries)*
  • A sovereign wealth fund in connection with its US$500 million commitment to a European infrastructure fund and additional US$200 million sidecar*
  • Black Diamond Capital Management, L.L.C., along with InvestIndustrial (United Kingdom), on their US$425 million acquisition of the phenolic specialty resin, hexamine, and European forest products resins businesses of Hexion Inc.*
  • Hg in various investments and divestments, including its acquisitions of Dext and Gen II Fund Services, LLC (the latter as part of a consortium with General Atlantic Service Company, L.P. and IHS Markit Ltd)*
  • Visa Inc. on its US$2.2 billion acquisition of Tink AB (Sweden)*
