Kevin C. Boyle retired from the partnership in June 2015. With the firm since 1987, Kevin represented a broad range of clients on information security and privacy matters. He has spoken frequently on information security and privacy issues including as a guest lecturer at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. For ten years he led Latham’s global internal information and physical security program and for five years its global privacy compliance program. Kevin holds a CISSP security certification from (ISC)² and a CIPP privacy certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Kevin’s experience included representing companies in numerous outsourcing and technology-related transactions, including transactions for:

  • Credit card processing
  • Electronic bill presentment
  • Billing and CRM systems
  • Call centers
  • Manufacturing
  • Voice and data transport agreements
  • Web portal and other development
  • Intellectual property licensing

He also has experience in restructuring and ending troubled outsourcing arrangements. In addition, he has extensive experience in communications industry-related M&A transactions and in representing clients before the Federal Communications Commission.

Kevin was the editor of the Global Privacy & Security Compliance Law Blog, which discusses a wide range of legal developments and controversies involving data protection, privacy issues and practices; transborder data transfers; and data and system security terms and breaches across numerous industry sectors.

Kevin served as President and as a member of the Board of the Northern Michigan University Foundation. He has also served as member of the board of directors of the Washington Area Business Alliance and as a co-chair of its Grubstakes Breakfast series, a program that fostered start-up companies in the D.C. region. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Mass Communications by Northern Michigan University in 2007.
