Kevin Homrighausen is an associate in the Orange County office of Latham & Watkins.

Kevin's practice focuses on project siting and approval for large infrastructure and residential development projects. He has experience in matters involving the California Environmental Quality Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Subdivision Map Act, and local planning, zoning, and historic preservation laws, among other environmental laws.

Kevin graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, and received Faculty Awards for Criminal Law, International Law, Criminal Procedure, Mediation, Negotiation, and International Trade & Investment Law.

During law school, Kevin competed in moot court and participated in UCI’s International Justice Clinic, where he worked on behalf of the UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression.

Kevin represents clients in a variety of environmental and infrastructure related matters, including:

  • Permitting and environmental reviews for large infrastructure projects, including representing clients before the California Public Utilities Commission
  • Permitting and environmental reviews for large residential projects
  • Leasing and approvals for resource development on state lands

Kevin has specific experience advising clients on the permitting processes related to carbon capture and sequestration facilities, as well as desalination facilities.
