Kiara Vaughn is an associate in the Boston office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Data & Technology Transactions Practice.
She has counseled a variety of clients on ever-evolving regulatory compliance and provided transactional support on mergers, acquisitions, and capital markets offerings. Kiara focuses on data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory matters across various industries.
Kiara is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US and CIPP/E) and regularly advises clients on various privacy and technology issues, including compliance with consent and sensitive data requirements. Her experience includes advising on privacy and data protection matters; conducting data privacy and cybersecurity diligence to assess potential liability, compliance, and integration issues; and assisting in the creation and evaluation of privacy and security programs.
Kiara also sits on the Pro Bono Committee, helping to advance Latham's goals of providing meaningful pro bono work for those in need. Prior to joining Latham, while in law school, as a student advocate for the Detkin Intellectual Property Clinic, Kiara assisted clients with the trademark prosecution process and conducted comparative research regarding international intellectual property and related laws.
