Lawrence Safran

Lawrence Safran retired from the partnership in December 2024. He was a partner in the New York office of Latham & Watkins. Lawrence was a member of the firm's Finance Department and the Aircraft Finance, Banking, Project Finance, and Structured Finance Practices. This area includes a wide variety of commercial law issues. Special emphasis is placed on those issues arising under Article 9 (secured transactions) and Article 8 (investment securities) of the Uniform Commercial Code although the practice also includes Article 2 (sales of goods), Article 3 (negotiable instruments), Article 5 (letters of credit), Article 6 (bulk sales) and Article 7 (documents of title).

Lawrence advised clients on commercial law and personal property transfer issues in connection with credit facilities, second lien bond transactions, project financings, real estate securitizations, collateralized debt obligations, credit card and other receivables financings and other structured financing arrangements.
