Marc Jia Renn Tan is a finance associate in the Singapore office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Banking Practice.

Marc’s practice includes advising investment and commercial banks, major corporate borrowers, and private equity firms, in a wide array of domestic and cross-border financings including bilateral, club, and syndicated loans, margin loans, acquisition finance, and project finance transactions. 

Marc received his LLM from Columbia Law School and his LLB from University College London. While at Columbia, he served as student editor of the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law and served as an LLM board representative of the Columbia Society of International Law. Prior to joining the Singapore office, Marc was based in the Latham’s New York office.

  • Pentagreen Capital on its inaugural lending transaction into the Philippines, featuring an up to US$100 million term-loan facility for Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation to finance the development of a slate of greenfield solar power projects
  • Hongkong United Ascend Limited, a provider of assembly and test services for semiconductor chips, on a US$500 million term loan and US$45 million revolving credit facility
  • SATS Ltd. on the €2.25 billion financing for its acquisition of Worldwide Flight Services, the world’s largest air cargo handling firm
  • Fullerton Healthcare Corporation Limited on its merger to create Fullerton Health, involving an equity injection by RRJ Capital and a senior loan totaling SGD390 million 
  • TPG on its:
    • Term loan facilities in connection with the acquisition of a controlling stake in Malaysia’s Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, a premier private university
    • Term loan facility to acquire Columbia Asia Healthcare Pte. Ltd., a healthcare services provider
    • Term loan facility in connection with the acquisition of Gribbles Pathology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Quest Laboratories Vietnam Co., Ltd., and Quest Laboratories Pte Ltd
  • The joint lead managers and underwriters in connection with a series of collateralized fund obligations issued by Astrea V, Astrea VI, and Astrea VII, and backed by cash flows from various portfolios of investments in private equity funds
  • PT Petroflexx Prima Daya and PT Wira Cipta Perkasa, a construction company in Indonesia, on a term loan facility to refinance existing debt
  • Sinar Mas on the term loan facility in connection with the acquisition of certain shares in Northstar Tambang Persada Ltd., an investment vehicle that holds shares in PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk, a mining contractor based in Indonesia
  • GITI Tire Pte. Ltd., one of Asia’s largest integrated manufacturers of automobile tires, on an up to US$300 million receivables-backed term loan facility
  • The lenders on the amendment and restatement in respect of a revolving credit facility to PT Harum Energy Tbk., a holding company with a portfolio of businesses engaged in coal mining and logistics activities in East Kalimantan, Indonesia
  • PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk, an Indonesia-based company that explores, develops, and produces crude oil and natural gas, on the amendment and restatement to term loan facility to refinance existing debt
  • Bain Capital on the refinancing of an existing loan from CTBC to Rise Education, the leading English language training institution in China owned and controlled by Bain Capital
  • Kinross International Group Ltd and PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk, as guarantor, on the term loan in connection with the acquisition of Energi Mega Pratama, Inc., an explorer and trader of oil and gas
  • Apollo Global Management Inc. on its term loan and revolving credit facility in connection with its acquisition of Tech Data Corporation, a distribution company specializing in IT products and services
  • Traveloka Holding Limited on the US$120 million investment from Qatar Holding LLC
  • OCP Asia (Singapore) on a term loan facility in connection with PT Assera NPM Investama's acquisition of PT Nusajaya Persadatama Mandiri, a nickel mining company based in Indonesia
