Margaux Thomas-Bonafos is an associate in the Litigation & Trial Department in the London office of Latham & Watkins.

Ms. Thomas-Bonafos advises clients on a broad range of litigation and trial matters, with a particular focus on complex, high-profile commercial litigation, including financial and shareholder claims.

Prior to qualifying into the Litigation & Trial Department, Ms. Thomas-Bonafos spent two years training in the firm’s London and Hong Kong offices, gaining experience in the Leveraged Finance, Corporate (M&A / Private Equity), and Antitrust & Competition Departments.

Ms. Thomas-Bonafos’ experience includes advising: 

  • Barclays in a group claim by more than 100 claimants under Sections 90 and 90A of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA). The threatened claim relates to allegedly untrue or misleading statements and/or omissions made by the bank in the period regarding its “dark pool” trading system
  • A leading investment bank in relation to claims in the High Court and Competition Appeal Tribunal involving allegations of collusion in the foreign exchange market
  • Foreign clients with the deposition of English witnesses in the UK
  • A State on matters related to privileges and immunities of State officials
