Omeed Anvar is an associate in the Century City office of Latham & Watkins.

Mr. Anvar represents studios, production companies, streaming platforms, sports teams and governing bodies, content distributors, financial institutions, investors, high-level individual talent, and other sports, entertainment and media clients on complex mergers and acquisitions, strategic joint ventures, equity and debt financing transactions, content production, financing and distribution arrangements, personal services agreements, sponsorship agreements, and the capitalization, formation, and launch of new media platforms.

Mr. Anvar earned his JD from Stanford Law School, where he was the president of the Stanford Entertainment and Sports Law Association. Prior to law school, Mr. Anvar served as a media monitor in the White House.

  • A24 Films, in a wide range of production, distribution, joint venture, acquisition, and financing transactions, including its senior secured revolving credit facility and multi-project production facility
  • Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, in a range of corporate transactions, including its co-financing arrangement with BRON Creative and US$8.45 billion sale to Amazon, Inc.
  • Intuit Inc., in its exclusive naming rights partnership for the Intuit Dome, the future home of the Los Angeles Clippers
  • Self Financial in its jersey patch and corporate sponsorship deal with the San Antonio Spurs
  • Tom Brady in brand ambassador engagements, intellectual property licenses, and corporate ventures
  • Sinclair Broadcast Group in its US$10.6 billion acquisition of the former Fox regional sports networks from Disney
  • Sony Pictures Entertainment in connection with its approximately US$1.2 billion acquisition of Crunchyroll from AT&T and the approximately US$1 billion acquisition of GSN Games by Scopely
  • New Republic Pictures in its co-financing and distribution agreement with Paramount Pictures to finance a slate of ten motion pictures including Mission: Impossible 7 and Top Gun: Maverick
  • Mast-Jägermeister in connection with its investment in Teremana, the tequila founded by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
  • Silver Lake Partners in its acquisition of TEG, Asia Pacific’s leading live entertainment and ticketing company
  • Silver Lake Partners in its minority investment into the Ambassador Theatre Group
  • A group of US sports and media investors in a strategic partnership with the International Basketball Association (FIBA) to invest in the Basketball Champions League (BCL) and other global basketball competitions
  • A direct lender in a senior secured loan to a leading independent music company
  • Honey Science Corporation in connection with its US$4 billion acquisition by Paypal\Nestlé in connection with its acquisition of a majority interest in Freshly.com
