Philipp Hagenbuch is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the Banking Practice.

Philipp’s experience includes advising banks, credit funds, and other financial institutions across a broad range of cross-border finance transactions, with a focus on acquisition and leveraged financing.

Philipp has been seconded to the Principal Loan Financing legal team at Goldman Sachs and has also served on the Recruiting Committee at the firm.

  • The lead arrangers on the US$8.3 billion financing for Atlas Investissement’s public tender offer for the shares and SDRs of Millicom
  • The mandated lead arrangers on the £1.6 billion term loan B and high-yield bonds for Motor Fuel Group’s acquisition of 340 petrol forecourts from Morrisons
  • The mandated lead arrangers and underwriters on the additional financing aspects for the acquisition of Stada Arzneimittel AG by Bain Capital and Cinven
  • Barclays Bank as sole physical bookrunner of the term loan B add-on provided to Pharmanovia
  • J.P. Morgan as sole bookrunner of the senior and second lien refinancing of Euroports and subsequent add-on financing
  • HPS as lender in relation to the refinancing of The Ambassador Theatre Group, a portfolio company owned by Providence Equity Partners, and the acquisition financing for Jujamcyn Theatres
  • A private credit provider in relation to the financing of the UK P2P acquisition by Valtech, a portfolio company of BC Partners, of Kin and Carta plc 
  • The mandated lead arrangers of the super senior revolving facility and senior secured notes refinancing of CBR Fashion
  • The underwriters on the debt financing for Pamplona’s acquisition of EET
  • The arrangers of the debt financing for HG Capital’s acquisition of P&I
  • The arrangers on the bank/bond refinancing for McLaren
  • J.P. Morgan Securities in relation to an up to €750 million holdco PIK financing for Sazka Group’s tender offer for OPAP, a Greek lottery and gaming operator
  • The lead arrangers in connection with Triton Partners’ acquisition of Atnahs International Holdings Limited, a specialty pharmaceutical business
  • MV Credit in connection with the second lien financing to fund Permira’s acquisition of Universidad Europea, a group of Portugal-based and Spain-based providers of higher education
  • Goldman Sachs, as second-lien lender, on Thomas H. Lee’s acquisition of the Autostore Group
  • The mandated lead arrangers in connection with the carve-out acquisition of Bormioli Pharma, the pharmaceutical business of Bormioli Rocco, by Triton Partners
  • The bookrunners on various term loan B and RCF amend-and-extend and upsize transactions
  • Various investment banks and financial institutions in connection with the commitment paper and bid processes for several European top-tier sponsor-led acquisition debt financings
