Scott Hodgkins

Retired Partner

Scott Hodgkins retired from the partnership in October 2015. Scott was a partner in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins where his practice focused on general company representation, including public company reporting matters, corporate finance transactions, and mergers and acquisitions transactions.

Scott regularly represented public and private companies ranging in size and market capitalization from Fortune 500 to development stage companies. His expertise included advising public company boards of directors in complex corporate governance matters. Scott also regularly advised development stage companies in corporate formation and venture financing transactions and on a number of merger and acquisition transactions.

Scott's industry expertise included consumer products, real estate, energy, health care and life sciences, technology with particular expertise in working with real estate investment trusts, including with respect to formation and contribution transactions.

Scott also served for six-years as global Co-chair of the firm’s Public Company Representation Practice. At the time of his retirement, he was a frequent speaker and lecturer on a variety of SEC reporting and corporate governance topics.

Prior to attending law school, Scott was a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young LLP. While practicing as a Certified Public Accountant, his practice included both audit and tax experience, focusing principally on corporate tax matters including mergers, acquisitions and consolidated reporting issues.
