Simon Dickens retired from the partnership in December 2013.  Simon was resident in the London office practicing principally in the Project Finance & Development Practice. He was also a member of the firm’s Africa, Oil & Gas, Energy, and Islamic Finance Practices.

Simon represented developers, lenders, and governmental entities in oil and gas, LNG, petrochemical, fertiliser, power generation, solar power, and other commodity-based projects, with significant experience in structuring and documenting the commercial arrangements amongst the parties to the transactions as well as structuring debt, equity, and security arrangements and documenting sophisticated finance transactions. In addition, he represented companies raising debt capital in the United States and the United Kingdom capital markets, major insurance companies, and other institutional investors acquiring corporate debt issuances, and has experience in structuring complex real estate, hotel and gaming, and tax-driven corporate financings.

In recent years, Simon represented Qatar Gas Transport Company Limited, Qatar Petroleum, Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company, DnB Bank, Crédit Agricole Commercial & Investment Bank, China Export Import Bank, Export Import Bank of the United States, Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Nippon Export and Investment Insurance, The Export Import Bank of Korea, Korea Trade Insurance Corporation, Export Finance and Insurance Corporation, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, the State of Qatar, Phillips Petroleum Company, BNP Paribas, Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company Ltd. (II), Qatar Chemicals Company Ltd. (Q-Chem), Qatar Chemicals Company Ltd. II (Q-Chem II), and Qatar Fertiliser Company (QAFCO), among others.
